We believe that by offering various topics that students are thoroughly invested in, students will be able to improve their composition, critical thinking, and artistic skills! Furthermore, entrants will be able to choose whether they want to submit an essay, pre-recorded video, or an art piece that reflects their chosen categories.

Act like a historian! Many journalists today investigate historical events, whether it may be the rise and fall of the Incas or the timeline of the American Revolutionary War. Choose your own historical event to research and create an informative piece about!
FICTION
Interested in creating a story of your very own? Journalism isn't always based upon factual information, at times, journalists are able to incorporate creative story-telling elements into their pieces. Use your creativity and imagination by creating a piece that will impress everyone!
COMMUNITY ISSUES & SOLUTIONS
Have you noticed an ongoing issue in your community recently? Document this issue and propose a solution to go along with it. Oftentimes, journalists use their extraordinary platform to raise awareness about certain issues.
PASSION
Do you have a hobby/activity that you are especially passionate about? Create an informative piece about your passion to share to the world.
RECENT DOMESTIC & GLOBAL NEWS
Keep up with the current news! In the present day, the world has so many major events happening. As a real journalist would, research your chosen event and explain all aspects of the event (cause, effect, context, etc). Create an unbiased piece of work to present both point of views to the audience.
TRAVEL DIARY
Have you traveled any where recently? Document your travel as a journalist would. Explain your day-to-day life while traveling. You may document your adventures, amazing new foods you've eaten, or even new customs and traditions you've learned! We'd be delighted to learn about new countries/states.
DEBATE & OPINION PIECES
Do you happen to have a different perspective on the world? Do you have a particular subject that you are extremely passionate about? As journalists, it is our job to present arguments and inform the public on all perspectives.
